This is a piece for a family that I have recently been acquainted with. “We all need somebody to lean on…”

“Portrait of Calle Strand” acrylic on canvas, May 2011. A little story: I had some paint left over from another painting and wanted to paint an abstract, maybe cartoon-ish, bearded man. I decided I should look at some images of bearded men. I ended up following a photo of model, Calle Strand (below). I don’t know who the photographer is or what magazine the photo is for. I’ve got more portraits planned! Stay tuned!
